Execution

1. Prepare the custard
In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, sugar (if using), and a pinch of salt until smooth.
2. Light toast for better texture
Lightly toast the bread before soaking. This helps reduce oil absorption and keeps the French toast fluffy, not soggy.
3. Soak the bread
Dip each slice into the mixture for a few seconds on each side, allowing it to absorb without becoming too soft.
